I'm really starting to love the album!

Now that I've been able to give it a fair shake and my brain the chance to really start to process all of the different layering and melodies, (and other musical shit I know next to nothing about and can barely express with any coherence) songs that at first pass seemed weak to me are starting to turn into high points. As it always is with me. It's like hearing Starfuckers for the first time and loving how catchy it is, and then by the dozenth listen it's kinda like, "yawn", meanwhile something like The Way Out is Through that might take a dozen listens to really start to appreciate, still remains pretty damn fresh even now. YMMV, since I'm talking about me here.

Anyway, my point being, anyone critiquing Hesitation Marks off of only one listen (and we know some "professional" critics have made that mistake) is doing a disservice to the music and to one's self. I have NEVER "gotten" a NIN album on the first go-through, ever, and yet NIN's music is by FAR my favorite music I've ever listened to, bar none. The time investment pays off huge.

/proselytizing over (lol)
